Maintenance for the LIFEPAK CR2 Essential Defibrillator

The LIFEPAK CR2 Essential Defibrillator is designed to be reliable, simple, and ready to use at any moment. But like all medical devices, it needs basic upkeep to stay rescue-ready.

Regular maintenance ensures your AED will work effectively during a cardiac emergency, when every second truly matters.

Record Your AED Details

When your LIFEPAK CR2 arrives, make sure you record the key device information:

  • Defibrillator Serial Number: Located beneath the battery
  • Defibrillator Model: LIFEPAK CR2 Essential
  • Pad Expiry Date: Printed on the QUIK-STEP pad packaging

Battery Expiry Date: Printed on the battery label

Keeping these details on record makes maintenance easy and ensures fast support if you ever need assistance.

Weekly AED Readiness Check

To keep your LIFEPAK CR2 in optimal condition, complete this quick weekly inspection:

  • Visual inspection of the status indicator

Ensure the light is flashing green. This means the AED is ready for use.

  • Confirm pads and battery are within expiry

Check that both the electrode pads and battery are within date and ready for a rescue.

  • Sign and date the inspection tag

This helps with compliance, accountability, and ensures a clear maintenance history.

These checks take less than a minute but are essential for ensuring the AED will perform correctly in an emergency.

  • Store the AED Correctly

Keep your CR2:

    • Accessible and visible

    • Away from extreme heat, cold, moisture, or dust
  • Replace Pads and Battery Before Expiry
